AN INVITATION FROM PRESIDENT ETHAN WILLIS OF THE GILBERT ARIZONA SEVILLE STAKE

Elevating Our Heartfelt Worship So It Transforms Us

My invitation is for each of us to prayerfully consider how we can worship in an elevated way—by living the gospel as if every action were a love letter to the Lord. Worship is the soul’s declaration that God comes first in our hearts. As we embrace this, our worship will transform us, filling us with joy and preparing us to have confidence before the Lord. “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” — Matthew 22:37 (KJV)

There are three “alls” in His teaching. What if our actions—our prayers, scripture study, service, repentance, and Sabbath worship—were rooted in fully surrendering our heart and will to Him? Not as items on a checklist, but as daily expressions of love. That shift would beautifully transform our relationship with the Lord.

Your Invitation

Step: 1

Prayerfully study Elder Christofferson’s recent general conference talk titled “Worship”. Read or watch it individually and as families, wards, quorums and classes.

Step: 2

Prayerfully assess what worship means to you. Use the Personal Worship Reflection Guide for an honest evaluation of your current worship and to make a personal plan as to how you will elevate it and strengthen your relationship with the Lord.

Step: 3

Track your daily effort to elevate your worship using the Daily Worship Effort Guide. Fill in a circle for each day you put forth effort to show your love, adoration and gratitude for the Lord. Do this from now until Thanksgiving which is apppoximately 100 days away.

A Special Promise

As you do this, you will feel a tender closeness with Heavenly Father and your Savior. Your worship, service, and gospel living will become more joyful. Charity for others will grow, a spirit of gratitude will fill your life, and your current burdens will feel lighter (Matthew 11:28). – President Willis
