“I promise the minute you forget yourself and turn to the Lord, that’s the minute you’ll find true joy and peace no matter what obstacle you are facing.”

Serving in Cincinnati Ohio was one of the best experiences of my life. Christ changed me in ways that I would have told you were impossible at the time. I developed traits that I didn’t know I could develop. He helped me find so much joy in ways I never could have imagined. Especially in the service of others. I’ve made friends that I know he perfectly placed in my life and that I’ll never forget. I’ve learned how much Christ knows and loves me, and wants more than anything for us to be happy. I promise the minute you forget yourself and turn to the Lord, that’s the minute you’ll find true joy and peace no matter what obstacle you are facing. I’m a living example of that. I’m going to try my hardest to pay back the blessings the Savior has blessed me with for the rest of my life, still knowing that I’ll forever be indebted to Him. I’ll forever be grateful for the last 18 months of my life.

If you aren’t sure if you should serve a mission or not- just do it! I didn’t have a definite answer from God to serve and I ended up experiencing so much joy and blessings on my mission that I know I couldn’t have experienced anywhere else. My mission helped me know that this is Jesus Christ’s gospel. That serving a mission not only blesses your life forever, but also the lives of those you teach and serve. Serving a mission is one of the best decisions you can make.
