Gratitude Journal Challenge:
AN INVITATION AND PROMISE FROM PRESIDENT ETHAN WILLIS OF THE GILBERT ARIZONA SEVILLE STAKE
How did I see the hand of God bless me or my family today?
I invite each member of the Gilbert Seville Stake to ponder the question, “How did I see the hand of God bless me or my family today?” Each day until Thanksgiving, write down at least one way you notice God’s mindfulness of you or your family. As we reflect daily on what the Lord has done for us and our loved ones our faith will be strengthened, our testimonies will grow, we will be blessed with a greater ability to recognize our blessings and our desire to do good will increase. Our hearts will fill with love towards God, and we will develop greater compassion for others.
I testify that we have a loving Heavenly Father who has a plan for our lives. As we trust and acknowledge Him, He will direct our paths.
With Love,
President Willis
Here’s How it Works:
Each day until Thanksgiving, write down at least one way you saw the hand of God bless you or your family. You can pray for inspiration regarding how you can adapt this challenge to your life personally and to the needs of your family. This challenge may look a little differently in each household and that is okay! 🙂
Printable Word Art Resource:
This optional word art printable is an 8×10” pdf and can be downloaded, printed and displayed in your home as a daily reminder to accept President Willis’ gratitude journal challenge.
“When President Willis asked us to write in our journal about how we have seen the Lord’s hand in our life each day, I took his words to heart. I wrote each day for the past few weeks and have seen some miraculous moments unfolded to me. I realized I had not been paying as much attention to all the little details of how he helps me each day. I have seen miracles happen in my home lately, but they were accomplished by small things over time. I recognize now each individual blessing so much more vividly and I feel so grateful each and every day.
I find my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ all the time now because I am looking for them. They are near and I see them even in my trials and my gratitude for them has grown. My outlook on life is happier. I see less bad through lenses of appreciation. So, when the Sisters in our ward asked me how I see the Lord in my life, I write their names down that night in my journal because I am grateful for them. A sweet prayer for our family was said and I realized that the Lord sends us angels all the time. This challenge has made me more aware of that.”
